The latest results from our Sunday Fishing
Reporting on our latest Fishing Open on Sunday, Terry Boulton, our Fishery Manager said: “The lake was iced over the day before and on the day of the match there was a cold winter’s wind.”
“Despite this, 14 anglers joined us. Luckily the lake had thawed out by then.”
First place went to Nick Saunders (below) with 86lb 2, from Peg 24.
Nick fished long with sweetcorn and it was his first time at Windmill, and he must have had beginner’s luck because he also won a lovely £150 by winning the golden peg. Well done Nick — we’re trying sweetcorn next time.
In second place fishing from Peg 27 was Paul Haines and Paul landed 53lb 10 on the long pole.
John Osbourne came in third place with 16lb 14, from Peg six — also on the long pole.
Winning the Silvers was Martin Alexander, from peg 22 with 6lb 14.
Well done also to Martin and everyone else who joined us on Sunday — we hope you’ve all warmed up now and see you soon.
The Windmill Fishery complex consists of four bespoke lakes, individually designed to cater for all your coarse fishing requirements.
The complex is run on a day ticket basis with night fishing available on the Carp Lake. We also run a food and refreshments service.
