We love to hear back from our visitors, take a look below:

Josh is very accommodating with all levels. Listens to what you want to work on and picks the bones out of it to fix any potential problems. Shows you before and after swings and why it works.

Excellent lesson with Josh. From the moment I walked in the reception staff were helpful. Josh focussed on my desired lesson.

I took my Powakaddy trolley battery for diagnosis and then my trolley for repair. All sorted (despite being a very strange problem) with a smile and great value by Adrian. I then thought I would take a punt on having a lesson with Adrian and that has given me some new insights to my longer clubs which I had not had before so am optimistic that I can get my driver working more reliably!

Hi Adrian,

Just wanted to thank you for all your support to us today, also Emma and Louie, it felt really well organised and presented, Evan enjoyed it so much and thankyou for passing on your valuable knowledge to him, you’ve got him really excited regarding this game.

“When we heard about the free taster sessions at Windmill Golf Academy we jumped at the chance to have a go. Some having never held a club before had individual attention from Adrian and in minutes were happily sending balls down range.

It was a welcome break from the office, a chance to relieve some stress, and great fun. We ended up becoming members and hope to make it a regular office activity. With the great facilities available we would thoroughly recommend everyone to have a go and being so close to BBSP it can be done during lunch!

“I had my first lesson today with Emma from Windmill Golf Range in Sunny Bristol.
Who would have thought that after a mere hour I would hit the ball 25% further.

The amount of money I’ve wasted on tweaking clubs and generally not understanding my swing…

A quick hour with Emma has added circa 50 yards to my driver.
The best money I’ve ever spent.”

“Hi Emma,

Just a quick note on behalf of the boys to say thank you. Graham was 2 shots off the lead on day 1 but, unfortunately, lost it on day 2. He wants to know when he’s going to get a lesson from you on round 2? He said your coaching made a real difference. Paul is very grateful to. He focused on his stance and his shots went really well.

Unfortunately, they didn’t win the weekend but they were not down for long as they were presented with the Farrington Winter Pairs trophy. Thank you for all your time and effort. They are looking forward to the next lesson. I’m a proud girfriend.

Best wishes”.

“The heated range bays have been built to an extremely high specification. To be able to practice with a two-piece 100% pure ball on a range of 300 yards really makes a huge difference… Our corporate event at Windmill was a great success and we will definitely book the facility again”.

Jeremy Richards – Partner at King Sturge, Bristol

“Hi Adrian

Thanks for the videos. Charlie is doing much better after your help, he is starting to get a swing with some consistency. The videos really show up the faults you highlighted and he is sorting these out and really enjoying his golf much more now.

Thanks again we will see you soon”.

“The Windmill golf academy has great facilities to practice, with each bay having accurately measured targets and the highest quality golf balls. They also serve a coffee & cake to die for! This is the best Driving Range in Bristol for both the facilities and professional Coaching Team. I practice there regularly.”

My name is Mark Austen and I have been Registered Bind for 21 years. I am completely blind in my left eye and have about 30% useful vision in in the left hand side of my right eye. I am aware of shapes and colour but have no clear vision.

Before I lost my sight all those years ago, I used to play golf at my local golf club and had a handicap of 21. Last year I was invited to do a round with some friends from Chipping Sodbury and although I now have very reduced vision, I wanted to give it a try. I lost five balls just driving off the first hole! I decided that I needed lessons and after browsing the Internet found the Windmill golf academy.

I made a phone call, explained that I was Visually Impaired and booked my first lesson with the Pro, Emma. I must admit I went through the front door of the golf academy with some trepidation but I had no need to worry, they were great.

For my first lesson Emma and I just spent an hour talking. Emma asked me about my golfing experience and expectations. She also asked about my vision and what help or information I would need. She was so helpful with trying different ideas to mark the golf ball and adapting the clubs. Over the past year I have worked on my stance, posture and swing. I have bought a new set of MD golf clubs and they have been adapted legally to help me line the club head up correctly.

I try to go to Windmill Golf Academy once or twice a week, so I can practise the techniques and shots I have been taught. From April to September I play a round, once a month, with a local golfing group at golf courses throughout South Gloucestershire. I now loose fewer balls!

In May I took part in my first match, and our team consisting of Rob, Emma and myself, won. One of my best shots was on the 3rd, 166 yards. I finished just 8 feet short of the pin!

The support, encouragement and enthusiasm of the staff at Windmill golf academy have made a real difference to me. They have enabled me to play golf again to the best of my ability, join group lessons and enhance my skills. They always assist me to keep improving.

“Now that the college year has settled down I felt it was time I wrote to thank Emma, Adrian and the team at Windmill Golf Academy for hosting a series of tremendously successful team building events for the higher education engineering students at City of Bristol College.

The response from our learners has been entirely positive and there is growing interest in holding another event in the not too distant future. From the college point of view the events provided an ideal opportunity for the learners to get to know each other, and members of the teaching team, away from the college environment while having a great deal of fun.

The activities offered were fully inclusive and every single learner felt a part of the day. Absolute beginners felt a real sense of achievement in being able to hit some solid shots by the end of the day while even the more experienced players benefitted from some well-targeted words of advice from yourself and Emma.

In short, the events proved a rousing success and exceeded our expectations on every count. I’m sure we will be calling on your expertise again whenever the opportunity arises”.

“Windmill Golf Academy is a knock-out range! I have yet to see a driving range to rival this one. The whole experience at the academy is second to none. The quality of the golf balls are great to practice with and I have really enjoyed my lessons with Steve. The team at Windmill are friendly and helpful and my overall appreciation and enjoyment for the game has greatly improved!

In any sport committed practice is everything. The enviroment in which you train is just as important. As a WBC World Champion boxer I fully understand that creating the right learning environment can make THE DIFFERENCE in keeping people in sport. Windmill has created just that with the facilities being both innovative and ground breaking. I would recommend Windmill Golf Academy to anyone, whether you are a keen golfer or not, you will really love this place!”

Glenn Catley- Former WBC World Champion

“Just to say a HUGE THANK YOU on behalf of the MENCAP group who visited Windmill recently. They were delighted with the whole evening and I am sure they will wish to return many times”.

Rob Stirzaker, Community Sports Manager, South Gloucestershire Council.

“To all the staff at Windmill – THEY LOVED IT!! The Golf Range was brilliant and they all had a great time. The staff were brilliant and they all want to go again”

Elaine Stirling on behalf of MENCAP

“Many thanks for organising our Christmas celebration. The whole event, from the organisation by the Professionals of the coaching/fun and games period, through to the excellent meal which was well served by some attentive and friendly staff, was a complete success. We will certainly be returning.

With many thanks.”

Chipping Sodbury Baptist Church Golf Society.

“What a great visit to Bristol’s best golf practice complex – Windmill Golf Academy at Westerleigh. No scrum here, just plenty of room to enjoy their superb practice facilities. My wife, daughters and I received a great welcome.

As a big fan of golf and regular player at my local club and at venues all over the world, it is important for me to improve on my 11 handicap. At Windmill’s driving range I can practice with 100% (non-composite) balls to give me true swing, distance and flight performance.

Their fantastic Short Game practice area is just the best facility I have ever come across. I wish them luck and look forward to the Family Fun area being completed by the summer and playing the new golf course soon.”

Mark “Ronnie” Regan MBE – Bristol & England Rugby No.2 and Rugby World Cup Winner.

“Thank you Adrian and Emma for today!

All the pupils had a great time and all the staff commented on how much their pupils enjoyed it and how appropriate it was for their needs, so thank you very much. Ed, who teaches the Autistic group, said that when he got back, one of his pupils who says very little, asked “when are we playing golf again?” which is fantastic and down to the sessions you and Emma delivered. Many thanks again”.

Adam Rider

“Hi Adrian,

I had a fantastic day. A massive thank you for all your pointers; I consistently hit the ball well and ripped some drives straight and close to 300 yards! 3 iron worked really well and I was out of the bunker close to the pin on several occasions.

Really inspired to carry on and loving the game again.

Thanks for all your teaching over the last couple of months, I have been recommending you whole heartedly to my colleagues, so expect some new customers”.
